BadBunny's x adidas The First Café kicks
Props to whoever managed to cop the new Bad Bunny adidas sneaker, because that was not an easy task.
Just one week after announcing their first creative partnership with Grammy winner Bad Bunny, adidas launched The First Café kicks on March 17 as a unique take on the classic court sneaker, the Originals Forum Buckle Low.
Spotted first hand on the singer's Yo Visto Así music video back in November, the sneakers' name is a nod to the artist’s affinity for coffee, which is translated visually in a brown colorway on its smooth leather upper. The instant sell-out was sold at $160 USD.
"I have always loved sneakers since I was a kid. They were the essential detail of the style I wanted and the look I wanted to have depending on what I was going to do that day. At the same time, my friends and I would talk about those sneakers we dreamt of having one day. It’s something that defines you and, at the same time, it brings people together," said Bad Bunny.
Bad Bunny's creative force was also a big hit on Grammy night with his performance — and that's the type of connection adidas seems to be after right now.
The list of adidas recent collaboration sneaker is extremely long, from Meissen, Paolina Russo, HUMAN MADE, Lotta Volkova, and Jonah Hill to even powerhouse brands like Prada. All these collabs have two things in common: names with big personalities and carefully selected leathers that enhance the creative work adidas has been doing.
A big lookout for 2021.
