three timeless styles in New adidas x human made collab
In their SS20 partnership, adidas ORIGINALS and cult Japanese streetwear company HUMAN MADE partner up for three timeless sneakers models.
First things first, let's start by saying that adidas ORIGINALS has a history of considering the environmental impact of the materials they use and always supports the use of recycled or sustainable materials. One of the biggest benefits of choosing leather kicks is that they're durable — if it's genuine leather or suede, of course.
Since 2005, has been an active member of the Leather Working Group (LWG), which is a multi-stakeholder group that promotes sustainable business practices within the leather industry.
And Human Made is a brand that knows how to make durable sneakers. Created by NIGO in 2010, the innovative artist, filmmaker, curator, and music promoter serves as the leading clothing and footwear-focused enterprise. Nigo still produces the produces under the Human Made flag, and that's why it counts on his unmistakably own instinctive interpretation of the world of youth as it continues to develop.
The brand joined adidas ORIGINALS again once again for 3 collab models using leather, suede, or both.
The first Human Made x adidas Originals Stan Smith features a leather construction in either white/gray, white/green, or all-black and it's the second iteration of the Stan Smith by HUMAN MADE for the SS20 season.
The second in the pack features Nubuck upper and a HUMAN MADE red "Heart" logo printed is applied on the lateral side, while text branding is present on both the heel and the tongue.
Marking with red backing and bright white logos, the three lines strike by the corner to honor the adidas signature, while the heel tab and tongue remove typical fixtures for ones filtered through Nigo's brand of design. Finished with vintage yellowed soles, the pack ushers in Triple Black, White/Gray, and OG-reminiscent White/Green.
Human Made and adidas pay Homage to old Bapestas with the Rivalry Low, the third model in this drop makes you think Nigo is finally ready to reference his time as the head of A Bathing Ape — a period that many consider to be the brand’s heyday.
Using the Rivalry Low as his canvas, the streetwear legend is effectively yet quietly paying homage to many a past Bapesta, a model notable for its playful and unique color blocking.
Similarly to previous projects of the two, the next drop draws inspiration from Adidas and NIGO's personal archives for the collaborative Tokio Solar HM shoe. The model takes design cues from the Tokio trainer that debuted in 1962 for the '64 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The Human Made x Adidas Tokio Solar boasts a Primeknit upper that's paired with the signature Human Made logo stamped on the heel, which sits atop a Boost midsole. The flexible knit upper wraps the foot, finished with suede and leather details.
