All about Casablanca x New Balance one-of-a-kind collabs.
That’s what happens when two powerhouses meet — eight collabs in just one year.
But in case you haven’t heard of the Parisian label CasablancaⒸ, start by knowing that besides its founder Charaf Tajer being Pigalle’s co-founder and a collaborator of Virgil Abloh, the brand has brought us some sick collabs with New Balance.
The sportswear-inspired brand wants to be known as the new go-to Parisian House. But its irreverent background might not fit so well in a scenario where customers are already passionate about NB’s familiar retro design.
And we’re glad that almost instant sold-outs were the responses to that thought.
Going against all odds and the challenges of a pandemic year, the brands were able to thrive together creating one of the best 2020 sneakers releases — the Casablanca 327 — and other kicks that made it clear that blending athleisure snkrs with refined and unique finishes could never go wrong.
Those kicks featured different colorways with responsibly made suede overlays. Back then, the standard mesh upper was also replaced by perforated white leather.
Following the 2020's 327 model, the latest New Balance and CasablancaⒸ collab introduced us to a pair inspired by the technology behind 1970s concept cars. The XC-72 fuses irreverence and experimentalism with special and timeless leather elements for tennis courts.
CasablancaⒸ also left Tajer’s French-Moroccan heritage on the New Balance 237, resulting in an exclusive pair. The same excellence and importance dedicated to prints and shapes could be found on the brand’s FW ‘21 collection, which you can check here.
Is that enough for you to keep an eye on Casablanca?
Let’s all agree that yes, sometimes, more is more. So don’t forget to check our kicks sesh for more snkr culture.
