Travis Scott is a rapper and leather-oriented creative.
Travis Scott can’t and won’t stop. That’s all we need.
The singer-songwriter, who has already teamed up with Nike, Dior, PlayStation, and even A24, is far from being just a rapper by always choosing to spread his creative wings, as said in this conversation with Tom Sachs.
Travis has pursued something bigger than his own music and found in collabs a way to achieve that. While bringing others up along with himself in the leather-oriented processes, the outcomes are some legendary Nike designs for the Air Jordan family & much more — the ongoing collab between the snkrs brand and the rapper has been on fire since 2017, btw.
Scott’s true intentions with his company Cactus Jack turned him into one of the names on the first collection by Dior fully co-designed by a musician, which was definitely historical. It happened after he had already been claimed as the frontman for the Dior x AJ collab, of course.
Going beyond design, the way Travis Scott has been shaping art and culture is enough reason to assume he’s already building a legacy in which leather plays a big part.
