Tyler Blue Golden on & off skate tricks you need to know
We're all in for ppl with multiple talents. 'Specially the ones that highlight skating culture.
Tyler Blue Golden is a rebel rising in the fashion world & you better keep an eye out for him. Besides snapping hype Instagram content of his flips, Fashion Week backstage shots & candids of his friends, the skater-turned-model has a few tricks you need to know more about.
1. He started skating at 10 years old.
Not only that, he did it professionally for a full decade. Since he was little, the free spirit of skateboarding was part of Tyler — so much so that it was incorporated into his whole style.
2. The leather sneakers he flashes.
Speaking of incorporating skating culture into his style, there's no way we can leave out his go-to kicks. From leather Converse for keeping his feet protected between flips, Coach runners with a matching black leather Academy Backpack to Gucci kicks, obvlsy.
3. Skating sponsorships were his path into fashion.
For someone who is passionate about all types of things — from visual art, music, skate to social media — overlapping professions was his call.
By the age of 15, he already had skating sponsorships that led him to the world of fashion & modeling, from taking part in campaigns and being muse to his self-professed icon Raf Simons to showing up at Fashion Weeks shows for brands like Calvin Klein.
4. Two words: Gucci Grip.
The best way to channel 70s skate culture is by giving the spotlight to skaters IRL. The campaign for the Gucci Grip watch captures the radical spirit of the lifestyle with fire leather jackets and premium Gucci sneakers to show off the vintage appeal of the watch's leather straps.
Fun fact: the watch is called Gucci Grip 'cause grip is a reference not only to the fit on the wrist but also to the way the rider’s sneakers stick to the grip tape on a skateboard.
