Rihanna and LeBron James in Rimowa's new campaign.
With the world returning to something like normality, we're all ready to go out there looking for new pages to our story.
And that's the concept behind Rimowa's new campaign, the inherently human need to travel, feel free, discover new possibilities, and re-discover themselves.
With a poem by none other than Patti Smith, the Never Still collection — we show you the line of everyday leather goods here — renews itself by showing how we miss the unknown after spending time indoors.
"Travel is its own book / Images we have captured in a film in memory form its leaves / That when turned reveal a story of a life." Says the first part.
Three other icons were invited to offer their own perspectives on travel: Rihanna, LeBron James, and Roger Federer.
Singer and powerhouse, Riri represents travelers who enjoy moments of stillness and solitude away from a frenetic business life. She went to a desert in California wearing a leather shearling jacket, a cross-body Messenger, and a red Essential.
King James, on the other hand, shows another kind of trip out of the spotlight: one to spend time with his wife and kids and to help the community he came from with the LeBron James Family Foundation. The star takes with him a big Original for these trips with purpose.
In addition to offering the campaign poem, Patti Smith represents returning home to NYC without looking back after her days of isolation on the beach. Just like the city, she embodies the idea that we have to continue moving forward, with creativity, and a small Classic.
Optimist Roger Federer learned from the pandemic that we have to take it slow and enjoy it. This new perspective is accompanied by bags of all sizes, as the tennis player has always lived on the road.
Rimowa is ready for any destination, and our luggage is always ready for the unknown.
