Peggy Gou's sparking Louis Vuitton monogram
French fashion house Louis Vuitton is again flirting with youth culture by enlisting South Korean DJ, producer, and founder of KIRIN, Peggy Gou, to model shoes for its autumn/winter 2020 collection.
Titled A Mile in Peggy Gou’s Shoes, the short offers a casual look at Ms. Gou’s routine in Berlin, opening with shots of her modern apartment and then following her as she tours her hometown on a red LV-marked bicycle.
The range of new LV drops features the luxury house's iconic monogram motif on accessories and all of Louis Vuitton’s most covetable AW20 shoes.
Silhouette ankle boots
This monogrammed silhouette also comes with a flower-shaped heel for the full LV effect while featuring a leather outsole.
Metropolis rangers
Still in the monogram vibe, this combat boot combines black calf leather with a vintage LV canvas.
“I guess there’s a reason why people call me Peggy Shoe!”
Inspired by a wardrobe constantly reinterpreted, Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of the French brand's women's collections, creates emblematic styles in the jacquard pattern called SINCE 1854, the year when LV was founded.
Matador ankle boots
The update on the classic cowboy boots comes with the help of the Matador silhouette, also in the LV monogram canvas. Inspired by the FW 2020 women's fashion show, the ankle boots in glazed leather represent well the mix of assertive apparel moves with iconic fashion houses.
Laureate platform desert boots
Wrapping around the boots section with some leather laces, the Laureate desert boots bring to one of LV's most recognizable styles a ready-to-wear feel to the picks. A new pattern perfect for heavier boots.
There is also good news for sneakerheads – attractive, casual, or urban: the gender lines of this collection are increasingly fluid. As Gou’s friendship with the brand grows organically, she continues to lend her original influence to the global powerhouse. As she might say herself, if the shoe fits...
