MFW highlights: how D&G in between snaps shook the circuit
See you soon, Milan!
In just one week, Fendi’s ode to femininity kicked off the shows, being followed by Versace’s tribute to its silk foulard — starring Dua Lipa. Oh, we also had both Maisons stepping into each other’s shoes with #VersaceFendiSwap.
Raf Simons’ irreverence presented at the Prada show blew everyone away and Dolce & Gabanna’s “always remembering, never repeating” motto was all about the ‘00s.
In the end, Milan Fashion Week welcomed us to an experience we have all been dying for since the pandemic started, with leather as a statement of freedom, the alluring yet casual aesthetics of Prada’s oversized coats and familiarity with the retakes on classics such as Donatella’s Medusa bag.
After all, fashion goes beyond the collections, and seeing people gathered by their love for their own expression is a reminiscent feeling that can last more than any trend.
Between the shows of the Italian houses at Milan Fashion Week ‘21, we could find a kind of austerity that tells us the world is not going to be the same anymore.
But it doesn’t mean that people are not ready for that, and our streetwear shots at the Dolce & Gabbana show prove you the exact opposite.
Bring it on, 2022.
