Meet the owner of 50 variations of the Nike x Off White
We and the entire sneaker universe were very excited about Off White's collab with Nike, but we definitely didn't come close to surpassing Bigboy Cheng.
In case you don't remember, Virgil Abloh created 50 different Nike Dunks for the Dear Summer collection, spreading the message of creativity and how a suede silhouette is a canvas that has endless possibilities.
Bigboy Cheng, known as DJ, Toy & Sneaker Collector from Philippines, took this drop very seriously and got not 1, but 50 pairs created by Abloh. Striking dedication? Yes. Red flag? Also yes.
If you've read our guide on how to buy sneakers and make leather gems last longer, you know that we value quality over quantity, and we encourage our community to think about it.
When does the passion for sneakers stop being a collection and become consumption without conscience? Getting the 50 pairs is quite an achievement, and we know how streetwear culture values itself over time, but is it humanly possible to wear them all?
Fortunately, Chen has acquired leather structures, ensuring they won't crumble over time, but it's kind of sad to think that these Dunks may never spread their creativity out there. On the bright side, it's a complete art collection to admire.
Remember that the shoelaces are customizable in this collection, so 50 is just a starting point. Does anyone out there remember how to calculate probability?
Don't forget your vegetables and fruits, like Strawberry Cough.
