AMIRI's Creative Director returned to his roots
When the pandemic hit, to where did you run to continue your creations? The Founder and Creative Director of AMIRI, Mike Amiri, returned to where his 1st studio ever, where he started it all back in 2009, in LA's Arts District.
That's why he decided to pay homage to that cultural reset with AMIRI’s Autumn-Winter 2021 menswear collection. With underground music clubs in the background, the collection took the streets of LA in one of the best model choreography the virtual shows have seen. Check it for yourself.
The result? A mix of Californian laid-backness seen in Mike Amiri's designs with the refined roots he continues to show from his years presenting collections in Paris. The new drops bring sharp leather cuts while continuing on the comfort wagon we're seeing a lot in apparel. Highlighting some '80s silhouettes of leather trench coats, caramel pants, crossbody bags, and even an 8 ball pool bag, the brand finished the fits with The Stadium Low, a fresh pair of leather snkrs.
To celebrate the season, the runway show was presented for Amiri's friends and family in an intimate drive-in screening to share the moment with the house’s tight-knit community.
While the runway fits are not yet for sale, a lot of the brand's latest designs are available. If you have your eyes out for the 8 ball pool bag of the AW'21 collection, you might want to take a look at AMIRI's Basketball Bag wrapped in leather, a design that hoops together to Andrea Bergart's creation we've been seeing a lot on-and off-court.
Another highlight of the recent collection is the strong leather pants and shorts presented. For that goal of strong fits minus the '80s vibe, you can go ahead with the Leather Tactical Short or Tactical Pant available on the brand's webstore. But if you're looking for a more laid-back design, try the Rucksack Backpack inspired by the vintage military rucksack design in a full suede body with leather trim details.
