The Nike Dunk High “Strawberry Cough” catch sneakerheads by nostalgia.
How to catch a sneakerhead? Bring back a nostalgic silhouette.
Nike has been betting heavily on this strategy of celebrating the past with fresh twists on silhouettes loved by consumers, so it was an ideal time to reinvent Skunk Dunk.
In celebration of 10 years of the collection of striking uppers in purple and green suede, eccentric artist and owner of Send Help skateboards Todd Bratrud was invited to work on the piece that was released on October 22nd.
Inspired by the original good-vibes enthusiasts 🌿, the Strawberry Cough has a textured red leather structure with furry green suede overlays to really look like the fruit. Details also bring a strawberry coughing on the sides and a semi-translucent midsole.
Considered one of the most anticipated drops of the month, Dunks sold out quickly, costing around US$800 in the resale market.
There are Dunks for Porsche enthusiasts too.
