5 facts about Jay Z...
He may have 99 problems, but he doesn't seem to have.
In 2021 Jay Z completed 52 years of his life filled with billionaire ideas and businesses, records in the music industry, and historical prominence for black culture.
As well as being one of the most successful artists in the US, we know he's part of the most powerful couple in the world alongside Beyoncé, and that they both don't enjoy the exposure. In low key, here are 5 facts about Shawn Carter that prove all his genius.
1. A collab with Michael Jackson.
The Carters are really low profile, and that's not new. Jay Z hides his work with Michael Jackson in the early 2000s on the single Girls, Girls, Girls from The Blueprint album. The King of Pop does the backing vocals on the song and doesn't even appear in the credits. So the formula for success is showing nothing? Noted.
2. Always Air Jordan.
Like many artists involved in streetwear, Jay Z is a sneakerhead. His preference for the Jordans' timeless leather frame has been snapped many times, in daily routine, performances, and music videos. It would be impossible to list his collection here, but we know he has a special place for Air Jordan 1 (1985) and AJs 3, as well as having his own Puma silhouette, and starred in a Reebok commercial in another lifetime. Btw, on the list of rappers who have the best kicks, Kanye West comes first 👀.
3. He doesn't write any lyrics.
We can't even go to the groceries without a list, even if it's 3 items, but Jay Z doesn't need one. In his more than 30-year career, the rapper simply doesn't write any of his lyrics, as he gets the habit of memorizing everything while still rhyming in Brooklyn.
4. More historic than the Grammys.
Yes, Carter is the most nominated person in the history of the awards, there were 83 times, 23 of which he took trophies home. The first time was in 1998, and now, he has passed Quincy Jones, sharing the podium with Paul McCartney and Queen B. There are 163 Grammys at the Carters' house, what will this organization be like?
5. Social media? Nah.
With the fastest passage in Instagram history (we think it is), Jay Z appeared on social media in November, breaking the internet, but it didn't last long. His only post was the poster of the movie The Harder They Fall, produced by him, which is a few minutes was liked by millions of people. In less than 3 hours, Carter deactivated his account and never came back. Does he have a fake profile?
Long live to the king.
