Y/Project: a space & time odyssey in the middle of a bridge @ PFW.
Y/Project is def a pro when it comes to making a scene.
Back in June, the Parisian brand led by Glenn Martens put a runway for the Menswear collection at the Oratoire du Louvre church, w/ a Muppets parody while the opera Carmen was playing out loud.
Now, Mr. Martens got a symphony reverberating side to side of the Pont Alexandre III bridge on the 8th for a first look of its new S/S20 Women collection, on day #3 of Paris Fashion Week.
โItโs a bit like the Belle รpoque on acid.โ *Picture Martens saying it w/ a laugh.*
The whole act: a bunch of street-style-definition-ppl in the middle of a bridge while Johann Strauss's โThe Blue Danubeโ waltz played in the background. ๐ Yea, that space sound from Kubrickโs โ2001: A Space Odysseyโ. ๐ธ
In a sec, the OST switched from orchestral stateliness to a pure industrial noise. U know, when ur mood swings from pliรฉ to 150 BPM. And just like in the movies, Martens gave us sum glimpses of the future โ to the next season, at least.
52 looks on the runaway w/ massive leather coats, asymmetric collars, and the shoes, DAMN. ๐ฅ The heels, the cutting, the amplified over-the-knees brown leather bootsโฆ *add to cart*. ๐ธ
In the crowd, there were even more. Killing sunglasses, dress, leather jackets and looong long coats.
10/10, Y/Project + Y/Project fandom.
