Vagabund Motos
Five years ago, Paul Brauchart & Philipp Rabl decided to combine their (otherwise opposite) aptitudes to create something amazing.
It was their passion for motorcycles, tho, that gave them the extra kick to build Vagabund Motos: a workshop that mixes Brauchart’s incredible design & marketing knowledge with Rabl’s creative 3D modeling & mechanical work.
“We are not a classic workshop and never want to become one. We are building complete concepts with exclusive designs & original methods of fabrication.”
They said when we chatted with them, showing us that the actual outcomes of the unexpected combination of their aptitudes are rulebreaker & inventive projects which are focused on design + movement — a combo that resulted in more than unconventional & exciting motorbikes but also originated a freedom-centered lifestyle.
Quickly, Vagabund Motos went from working in an improvised basement workshop in North of Graz, Austria, to taking over the world, getting accepted and celebrated in the biker community but also captivating design aficionados everywhere. All that from their undying will to stay true to the concept that's guided them all along: to reinterpret classic aspects of this timeless method of transportation, respecting the constant movement of its nature.
“We are not reinventing the wheel, but we are rethinking it."
And they're doing so by twisting the usual perspective on motorcycles & building them thru a design point-of-view, in which innovative use of tech ++ the power of aesthetics play just as important roles as the complex mechanics behind them.
“Our projects are never forced into a single form like cafe racer, s c r a m b l e r , t r a c k e r , b r a t, chopper, or bobber. These are just guidelines ready to be broken.”
When it comes to aesthetics, Brauchart & Rabl give new life to old bikes by mixing these different shapes while maintaining classic aspects that add undeniable value to any design, like timeless leather seats & accessories. The duo keeps incorporating the material into their motorcycle designs for its durability, guaranteed quality & badass look: traditions that — even for those ready to break some of them — make sense to hold on to.
Now, they are applying all their practical knowledge and restless attitude toward innovation to expand their direction & ride thru new fields. From their collab with Urwahn Bikes to create an off-road bike to provoking their audience with off-road cars, they are ready to rule the off-road universe as a whole.
