trippy surrealism meets haute couture
During these challenging times, it’s important to stay inspired at home. Versace is keeping up with the brand’s continued support of emerging talent and young artists, and in this At home with Versace edition, the brand showcases a project created by an up-and-coming creative that's inspired by their sneaker collection.
Antoni Tudisco is an artist born and raised in Hamburg, Germany who has Filipino and Italian roots. He creates a mesh of street and surreal 3D art, and his portfolio features brands like Nike, Adidas, and Apple. His detailed pieces of work caught the haute couture brand's eyes and encouraged his interpretation of the Squalo, drawn from iconic house code: the Medusa.
The Versace Squalo design was inspired by the anatomy of the great white shark, the outsole of this pair evokes the shape of the animal's jaws. Leather details feature the signature Versace top-stitching as a celebration of the brand’s heritage and the logo is featured on the tongue. 👅
Tudisco's works are available on Behance and also on his Gram account. Some of the Squalo sneaker colorways are available on Versace's webstore.
