Street Hawker SB Dunk Low: nosh to fuel your shoe game
Nike's latest take on the SB Dunk Low is bringing the rawest scene of Chinese street culture to a dynamic design.
City-based skaters work up an appetite from non-stop shredding, and from from New York to Beijing, skate seshes are fueled by Chinese street food vendors aka "Hawkers." Cities from around the globe offer individual takes on the classic cuisine, but across the board the energy remains the same: accessible, reliable, delicious food for the most active members of street culture.
To bring the unique scene to visual life, artist Jason Deng composed six watercolor paintings to represent different regional specialties from a few of Asia's biggest skate-centric cities like Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing. The custom visuals are accompanied by other gems to complete the design, including a smooth suede upper and textured Nike swoosh that represents chopsticks. The final result: a style that serves every flavor of this niche cultural scene.
The Street Hawker SB Dunk Low is now available to cop at select local skate shops and will drop on SNKRS on the morning of January 22nd for $110 USD.
