Shopping bag concepts transformed MEDEA into a rising star of leather bag designs
Imagined by twin sisters Camilla and Guilia Venturini, Medea is a Milan-based label whose bags have been spotted on the arms of every fashion luver (like Rihanna, Petra Collins, Dev Hynes, and Kaia Gerber).
The Italian designers quickly became popular after launching all sizes of leather bags inspired by, well, the paper shopping bags used @ grocery stores. The provocative idea was their way of taking an everyday item & transforming it into a luxury piece with prime Italian-made materials, like calfskin and suede.
As u know, when reality is ur inspiration, the result isn’t always flawless and wrinkle-free — that’s how the Busted Bag was born. The sisters took a crumpled bag and transformed it into a unique leather piece that looks the perfect amount of worn out & rustic.
Medea's approach intends to show that an object’s lifespan can be way than ppl think — and a trending it-piece can be a closet staple & outfit must for a very long time if made with the right materials. The duo’s attraction to creative & powerful women makes the brand what it is. Fun fact: Medea’s name comes from the mythological sorceress, who was impersonated by the equally powerful Maria Callas in Pasolini’s 1969 movie.
What bag size will u get?
