Say hi to Balenciaga Neo Classic Bag
After 20 years of the Motorcycle Bag, Demna Gvasalia has taken BALENCIAGA's most recognizable codes and re-imagined them in a way that is both modern and yet an ode to one of the mid-2000s most defining accessories.
When it first debuted, the bag enjoyed a burst of feverish popularity. If you close your eyes for a second you can almost see it delicately slouching and swinging over an Olsen twin’s arm, leather tassels floating in the wind.
This design went by different names at the time – the Motorcycle, the City – but its enduring appeal speaks to its true nature as a Classic. That takes us to Balenciaga's announcement introducing the NEO CLASSIC BAG.
It took two decades of obsession with the same bag until the revamped design was officially introduced, in the fall/winter '20 runway collection.
Just like the OG, the Balenciaga Neo Classic Bag was formulated as the real deal and created for wear and tear. In a world of mini bags, this one is specially made for the practical woman in a thankless city with a lot of stuff to carry.
The lightweight bag combines soft and colorful leather with studs, buckles, and zippers pulled by long leather tassels to drool over. The Motorcycle bag was made to be collected and with Balenciaga releasing the same style in different leathers, colors, and now, a new model, it's never been easier to start.
The bag line is completed with a full range of small leather goods, from cardholders to pouches with shoulder straps that just dropped at Balenciaga’s webstore.
