Rib Chair by Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler
Gotta stan the industrial design elements that can be perceived in this home.
Most of the time, we get vibes through the materials chosen to compose the interior decor, but besides that, we see something in common between all these places that caught our eye: designer leather pieces. 🛋
Now, we're taking a closer look at this icon of 1950s Brazilian design.
The Rib Chair A.K.A Costela Chair was the winner of the Milanese Compasso d’Oro award, and it was designed by Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler. The duo's work spans four countries and several decades. And, though their abundance is left to discover, their exceptional, unique works are already highly sought as examples of the vibrant modern movement in South America.
The fundamental idea on which the Rib Chair is built is the beautiful wooden structure with wooden ribs embracing both the seat and the back, plus the functional and aesthetic completion of the detail. We know that timeless design depends on timeless materials, so there's no better way to complement this stunning piece than with caramel leather, and we have proof.
Being one of the designers' fave material, leather has been used in their work since ever. It can be shaped and cut with ease, as it's both light and strong, and, most importantly, it lasts.
