Revival’s work spans all eras and styles.
Produced in Texas, Revival Cycles builds two-wheeled masterpieces using vintage stock and cutting-edge engineering.
Revival builds new bikes, repairs antique ones, and designs leather accessories at their East Austin warehouse.
Racers, dirt bikes, and track rockets are as powerful to ride as they look. From a flat-seated scrambler-type with insectile blue-and-white tanks to a reimagined Ducati painted up like Christmas, the selection of types is jolting. The majority cost six figures and can take several months to be manufactured.
Their process can be summarized in 4 steps, 1 of which is our favorite by far.
1 THE IDEA: always with a nod to motorsports, inspiration often comes from vintage & custom bikes that are housed in the studio.
2 PATTERING: here's where thoughts and ideas become reality and each product gets patterned out and laid out onto one of their leather hides.
3 CUTTING: if you're a METCHA daily reader, you know we're all into cutting leather pieces and see the transformation of a portion of leather into a dope piece of design — and if it's handmade, we're in leather heaven. In this step, Revival get each pattern cut out by hand from top-quality leathers.
4 PRODUCTION: in the end, between skiving, sewing, and believing, each product goes through several processes when getting put together.
"In the latest @revivalcycles Daily, Alan talks through the one-off collection we've produced consisting of limited-run special leather pieces originally manufactured for the Handbuilt Show this April. But with the postponement of the event, we're now offering them for sale via Instagram. Stay tuned to see when these special releases will drop. Some are literally one of a kind and all will be first come first serve."
