Fujiki is an expert who works at Mazda’s design team and has been embodying the Japanese tradition of Takumi.
"A Takumi puts their spirit into their craft & transfers that creative energy to whoever experiences their work. This spirit of Takumi can be felt in the craft of our vehicles."
His total dedication to the art of crafting is focused on leather parts, in particular, for the interior of the car, making realistic models using a wide variety of high-quality materials.
In an attempt to combine the passions of different individuals, Fujiki explains the method of using different fabrics like leather to bring an expressive texture to a shape designed with proper care and sensitivity.
“The seat design, for example, is decided after much trial and error, I’m proud of realizing my stitching work such that the passion of all the people involved in this process can be rewarded.”
