Off-White™'s new era and Nike collab.
When Virgil Abloh announced the Out of Office collection in 2020, we gained yet another comeback to classic '90s basketball models, a chunky aesthetic complete with an equally retro sole. The design was made of white leather with a green arrow on the side, Off-White™'s logo on the back, green and taupe rubber sole, and white lace-up closure.
What we didn't expect was a reinterpretation by Abloh himself in 2021, with a totally unique take on 'walking.' In an editorial by Dazed Korea, they present the brand's new steps on mats on beaches, fields, or in the middle of a building.
Styled by Oh Yura, white leather sneakers marked with black hand-written text reading “FOR WALKING” were combined with blazers, baggy pants, concept dresses, and leather accessories. Everything made very fluid to accompany the movement to Out of Office.
But before the year ends, Abloh is releasing 50 pairs of the Off-White™ x Nike Dunk Low, marking this turn of the designer era. This will be the most extensive collab among the brands since 2017, when they reimagined 10 silhouettes. Called Dear Summer, the collection will mix black, gray, and other colors not yet revealed.
It's escaping the mundane and creating your own — and endless — possibilities.
