Nike classics with sustainable takes by Peterson + Stoop.
If you could pick a vintage Nike design to recreate, which would it be?
Jelske Peterson and Jarah Stoop, the creatives behind Amsterdam-based label P+S, master the art of giving a new and improved life to vintage pairs that have seen better days. To understand the process behind their unique pairs, we visited the duo's studio at the beginning of last year and you can watch the whole thing here.
And now Peterson + Stoop recreated incredibly classic Nike designs such as the Air Max 97, Cortez, Blazer Mid, AF Mid, and Air Max 95 for the Japanese webstore cherry fukuoka®.
P+S signature veg-tan leather storm welt is all over as they hand stitch it across the vintage kicks they gather. The leather used can be found not only at the storm welt but also on the pairs' laces, insole, and midsole.
This is part of a wave of sustainable yet fire sneakers that play around with prime designs that represent what Nike truly is. The studio's values of artisanal and genderless work tackle the issue of waste in the footwear industry, making sure the leathers and pairs used are being taken care of.
You can also find the Nike Blazer in black at P+S webstore for €515, but all the pairs that we talked about are at cherry fukuoka®'s webstore for prices starting at ¥72,600 — even tho most pairs are already sold out for being so unique and carefully crafted.
