Niels van Roij x Heritage Customs.
When we met Niels van Roij, we understood the meaning of carchitecture, and now we can show it to you with his latest ideal example of it. In a collab with Heritage Customs, experts in tuning legendary Defenders, the Dutch auto designer and HC co-owner JP Kroezen turned the brutal 2021 Land Rover into a real gem.
Called Valiance by the duo, the interior of this car is, as van Roij would describe it, is like a tailored suit. The inside was rebuilt with brown leather in the same tone as the rusted bonnet diamond plates and side vents, so you can understand why he is the coachbuilding master.
"We introduce a new color — not available from the factory — and a new pattern with the way the leather is applied to the seats. We have also redone the dashboard and doors. This was basically a full interior makeover," he tells us in an exclusive chat.
In addition to its leather interior, the car has bold details never before seen. Heritage Customs has developed a unique metal-binding technology, and with this product, it's possible to paint all types of metal on interior and exterior surfaces.
After spraying a thin layer of aluminum, brass, bronze, titanium, zinc, or even gold, they oxidize (rust) the material, generating an even more outspoken look.
Niels van Roij is def taking wheels customization to the next-next level.
