Mercedes-Benz x Virgil Abloh’s Project Maybach.
The highest level of a high-end leather interior meets an adventure bodywork for the outdoors.
This is Virgil Abloh's Maybach created in partnership with Mercedes-Benz. its a car that reveals all the boldness, innovation, and sophistication of the designer's mind, keeping the power and tradition of a Benz.
The collab was announced in October and performed during Art Basel in Miami on December 1-2, right after Abloh's final runway show.
From the outside, the Maybach impresses with its looks straight from Mad Max and ready to tackle tough terrain, with industrial light spots above the windshield, black on the hood, and brown almost caramel on the sides.
The same colorway continues on the inside, with 2 buttery leather seats fully reclinable for comfort, contrasting with the brutal look of the structure. The fully functional dashboard follows the palette and, together with the transparent roof, gives a feeling of infinity.
In addition to the choice of premium materials for the interior, the Maybach is electric, continuing with the designer's vision of the future and sustainability. There is no longer any information about the production of this project, being considered another exercise in design and Virgil Abloh's genius eternalized in a Benz.
"The world has lost a genius. But his inspiration and legacy will live on," said the brand.
