Jean Dawson is creating music with dope visuals
Jean Dawson is getting bigger with his sound: new and refreshing tracks that regularly escape simple classifications. The 24-year-old LA artist has been trying and succeeding at experimental pop purveyor.
The craziest visuals in the music video for CLEAR BONES is yet another proof of DAWSON'S LIMITLESS POTENTIAL IN THE NEXT BIG WAVE OF MUSIC.
In his ascent to popularity, it’s clear that Dawson makes music for lifelong outsiders to find themselves.
CLEAR BONES followed the release of POWER FREAKS & POLICÍA — and then, with the release of an anti-nazi tee, Jean raised thousands for the Innocence Project, Inner-City Arts, and Black Trans Travel Fund.
Between face masks and trippy animations, Jean has a whole lot of punches and a penchant for dope looks; often seen sporting leather pants or grillz on his teeth, he incorporates a classic feel of '90s punk with '00s rap realness.
“I’D LIKE TO THINK IT’S MY WAY OF RESPECTFULLY ACKNOWLEDGING THAT MY LIFE IS ON A SHOT CLOCK. I THINK THE SONG IS SOMEWHAT PLAYFULLY MORBID — HOW LIFE CAN BE. WE LIVE AND WE DIE AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN IS SIMPLY WISHFUL THINKING (:”, he said in a talk with i-D.
Being one of those most exciting rising artists today, he also knows how to manage to get his own sound to the fullest and it's pretty clear in his latest single and new music video.
