Italian leather made to last in forever classic Tobia Scarpa pieces.
Since ever making your home ready for a comfy stay in.
If you've never ever seen a Scarpa piece, you're looking out for furniture the wrong way — but we're here for u. Born in Venice in 1935, Tobia Scarpa is greatly influenced by his father Carlo Scarpa & has also worked his entire life with Afra Bianchin, his partner in business/life.
Their work got everywhere, from architecture, design, furniture to even clothing. The goal was always comfort, leather crafting on point & classic aesthetics. Check this out.
And the success keeps on coming back. Even tho the Soriana sofa was designed after an urgent call from furniture maestro Cesare Cassina in November 1969, it's a growing fave always returning to the forefront. The minimalist chromed wire structure that cinch the plush cushions in place closes off with a high-quality leather finish and became a supermodern classic. Tobia explained at the time the goal with Soriana:
“At the beginning, the workers did not understand that the leather covering was not supposed to be taut, but to appear like a soft, creased fabric curled around this soft mass and held together by a sort of giant metal spring”.
