Follow us to discover Jaden's new plans
For the Jaden edition of Highsnobiety's FRONTPAGE, photographer Joshua Kissi directed this shooting and found out WHY JADEN'S SAVING THE WORLD. 🌎
Already being isolated for a few months even before the pandemic started, JADEN was focused on his tones of works. Ahead of the launch of a new album and in the midst of a fashion collection, a sneaker collaboration, and ongoing activist initiatives, Jaden is fully ascending.
His latest mixtape CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3 standouts include Justin Bieber in Falling For You and Raury in Endless Summer. About this prequel to his hit record SYRE, he said to Hypebeast, in an interview, that “it’s kind of bringing all my fans who have been with me from the beginning since before Icon, before SYRE, and kind of updating them on everything that’s been happening. But with that being said, this is also a prequel before SYRE, so it’s kind of taking place when I’m 15, going all the way up until 17 and, like, how did SYRE get trapped in the sunset?”
Much of the tape mirrors Jaden’s CABIN FEVER single as reflective and a self-proclaimed love song for quarantine.
Jaden had his first big idea to save the planet when he was just a kid: he designed a sustainable water bottle when he was 11 years old. Back then, he quietly created JUST Water with his father, which bottles and distributes spring water in a low-impact way.
Now he’s partnered with vote.org to encourage the younger population to register and get informed before hitting the polls in November.
Not only Jaden is a star since ever but the Smiths still one of Hollywood’s most famous — and interesting — families. Music runs through their veins and, if you have any doubts, our playlist will prove our point. TAP PLAY AND KEEP SCROLLING for an immersive Jaden experience.
He's taking this traumatic moment as we are all supposed to: a massive wake-up call over important topics that have been forgotten. And these turbulent times are when Jaden seems to find the most creative inspiration. This picture of him in a big brown leather sofa doing a meditation position kinda transcends the peace the world needs for itself.
Although, when asked by Highsnobiety, identifying himself, Jaden starts off by explaining how he regularly corresponds with “amazing” Black activists who are out on the frontlines, but still view their roles as being “active in this space.” As someone who genuinely cares about the causes he stands behind, he wants to inspire other kids to do the same thing, so he has no reservations about associating with the term. “I just want to show people that you can do it and that you don’t have to be afraid,” he explains.
“IT IS A SCARY WORLD, BUT YOU CAN STILL DO IT RIGHT.”
