Clayton Korte’s Hill Country Wine Cave.
Architecture is surprising when dealing with natural obstacles, especially when it comes to a rocky mountain. The solution found by the Clayton Korte office was to use nature to its advantage and build this hidden wine cellar and bar in the cave itself.
The Hill Country Wine Cave is located in Texas, along a secluded bend in the Rio Blanco, on the edge of a wooded hillside. The place provides a rustic and natural setting that contrasts with the contemporary construction.
The modest exterior entrance reveals a bit of mystery as it provides only a glimpse of the interior, which houses a tasting room, bar, and wine cellar. The natural rocky texture was maintained, blending with other natural materials in the decoration and furn.
In front of the central counter, you can sit on classic leather stools side by side, ideal for a quick group tasting. The Wine Cave also offers tables for groups and cozy leather armchairs to dwell in the landscape.
