Behind the design of MILITEM's HERO model
Through an exclusive interview with Andrea Cavarzan, we dove deep into the family-owned MILITEM brand ― an auto industry name that seeks to create high performance models capable of tackling any atmosphere while maintaining their uniquely luxurious Italian heritage.
The brand began manufacturing to fill the gap left by Hummer after their 2010 close ― a niche gap of models that featured upscale, premium craftsmanship in vehicles that could also tackle the most challenging terrain. MILITEM exceeded expectations for "all purpose" luxury cars, creating models that could go head-to-head with industry icons like the G-Wagon and the Porsche Cayenne.
We chatted further with Cavarzan on one model in particular, the HERO ― their smallest all-wheel drive luxury SUV that brings a five-star experience to any road, urban or rural.
"Inside every MILITEM you must experience a first class seat atmosphere. The HERO is our “tiniest” model, born to be bright as a metropolitan star and furthermore, to perform as a miniature Hummer in off-road conditions."
"The creation process of the HERO began with technical and performance upgrades. Looking at the exterior, it looks like a wide body Jeep Renegade, thanks to MILITEM designed extra-coverage fenders. It is important to underline that for the HERO, we had to also work on the body structure of the car by enlarging the wheel arch for placing 20” wheels and 265/50 all-terrain tires. A great job has been done also for what concern the 4 high performance suspensions, engineered by MILITEM engineers in order to lift the car by 1,5” and stabilize it after the shift of the center of gravity."
"The driving experience of the HERO is something unbelievable, and we just powered the engine up to 190 hp.
You should try, believe me."
