Air Max Day came with worldwide drops like the long-awaited 2004

Feeling a lot like early-Christmas, this year's Air Max Day in the midst of its 34th anniversary is taking place worldwide for an immersive virtual experience. From Berlin's Air Max Evo music mash-up challenge to a sneaker-talk in Dubai with a panel of trail-blazing women. Basically, a virtual itinerary that doesn't leave anything behind to celebrate the what-should-be-a-holiday date for sneaker fanatics.

The most long-awaited drop of the date must be the Nike Air Max 90 Bacon — just because in 2021, everything old in the sneaker world is new again. With a range of shades inspired by bacon, from raw to crispy, the contrasting color-blocking leather uppers reprises the first pair released in 2004. Sold-out in just a few minutes, the revamp was sold at the SNKRS app for $140 USD.

🥓 It might seem like a comeback of the now gone Bacon Mania era in which every trendy dining place had a bacon framed on the wall (the era even has a Wiki page, we're not kidding), but the AM 90 Bacon's roots go way back. The meat-inspired colorway was actually an idea that DQM founder Dave Ortiz landed on just days before his deadline after realizing something he often says: "It’s just sneakers.
