Air Jordan 1 x Spike Lee.
To celebrate Spike Lee's presidency of the Cannes Film Festival ‘21 jury, Nike brings a special edition of Air Jordan 1 for him, who has been a member of the family since the '80s. If you don't remember, Lee was part of the legendary commercial Spike-and-Mike for the Air Jordan 3, and from then on the collabs never stopped.
With only five units produced, these sneakers feature Lee images on the tongue and a color scheme that resembles the French flag, white, blue, and red suede and leather from the sides to the swoosh. Bold colors, but the strength of this silhouette is mainly in the details. On the left foot of the pair, we can see the director as Mars Blackmon, his character in the movie She's Gotta Have It. His cap brim is emblazoned with the word "Cannes" while his shirt says "President Mars."
On the right tongue, we see Lee wearing his purple Oscar 2019 suit, which he wore in tribute to Kobe Bryant, including a gold pendant with the number 24. This Air Jordan 1 was originally designed for Cannes 2020, but due to the pandemic, the event had to be postponed. Lee ended up wearing it at Cannes 2021, wearing a pink Louis Vuitton suit.
The Academy Award Winner kicks won't be available at any store, after all, they are the president's sneakers. It's not a lost drop, it's the birth of a legend.
