Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 990s
Aimé Leon Dore's designs have a thing for taking collabs & capsule collections further.
The brand from Queens, NY, uses the timeless feel & quality of leather and suede & gives them unique aesthetics depending on what the new drop is all about. Part of the Life in the Balance collection, Aimé Leon Dore / New Balance 990s brought colorful suede overlays contrasting with grey mesh uppers and that 90s vibe we all hoped for.
The newest drop of this consecrated collab is the New Balance 992 for anyone on the lookout for more classic grey-ish suede SNKRS. Or the colorway trio of New Balance 827 with an ultra-retro design we talked about here.
If you want more of the wild lifestyle that the Life in the Balance collection had, back in 2018 Aimé Leon Dore created TIMBERLAND boots with — you guessed it — colorful leatherwork that has a vintage feel.
Enough about footwear 'cause the brand does a whole lot more in the field of wheels & leather goods. They actually did an exclusive collab with Porsche called ALD 964 Porsche Carrera 4 that was displayed in NY galleries — but you already knew that with our full inside look at its use of Schott sunflower leather and Loro Piana houndstooth here.
The ALD 964 was the start of a capsule collection with a range of apparel and accessories, including coach's jackets, hoodies & accessories featuring an ALD custom-designed red pegasus graphic in the same Schott leather used for the car.
Well, thanks Aimé Leon Dore for that leather dive. You can even check their 2020 leather good drops here.
