Even though 2020 was a difficult year, it was his year. He was nominated to the Grammy for Best R&B Album and collaborated with Justin Bieber and Daniel Caesar on the hit Peaches and with his idol Drake on Chicago Freestyle. Also during last year, he released 2 EPs, Take Time in March and When It's All Said And Done in October.

1. He enjoys interior design

During the lockdown, Giveon spent more time at home like the rest of us and had a chance to explore his decorator side. He considers himself a minimalist and prefers a space with few objects because disorganization makes him anxious. His first project was his living room, in which he dubbed 'Kanye West's crib'. 😅

2. He wrote stories before songs

The singer said he used to write 40-page stories, but he never had a quick response from those who read them, after all, there were too many pages. So he started trying to summarize these stories in 3 minutes and ended up making songs. Obviously, now everyone wants to listen to them.

3. He had an EP ready at 18 yo

The songs were ready in 2013, but he thought it was too soon. Growing up, he realized that those songs no longer represented him, so he discarded the EP and continued working. For him, it doesn't matter how long it took, because today he sees quality in what he does, with a team that makes him safe.

4. Style really matters

On his Instagram feed or by the aesthetics of the music videos you can see that he has a minimalist style, with many pieces of leather — jackets mainly. He thinks that choosing each piece is important to compose a story or project, it's where it all starts. In the future, Giveon intends to work with fashion, following the paths opened by Kanye West.
