1017 ALYX 9SM S/S '20 is about to blow your mind.
1017 ALYX 9SM started up its game back in 2015 with the shortened name of Alyx. Less than two years after, the brand had teamed up with Nike and built a fan base with the likes of Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, and A$AP Rocky, just to name a few.
The label is based in New York City and has everything produced in Italy, spreading around the concept of combining high quality materials with subversive culture. They offer a combo of tailoring, luxury fabrics, and some awesome accessories.
Matthew Williams is the creative director behind 1017 ALYX 9SM since its very first day.
He never actually graduated from fashion school, but everyone who is everyone couldn't care less about it. Before taking charge of 1017 ALYX 9SM's creative direction, Matthew worked with Lady Gaga and Kanye West. His vision has shaped projects throughout print, digital and life experiences. A pretty good résumé, right?
Williams once said that 1017 ALYX 9SM is like an expression of a human feeling, and also a project that represents who he is as a person.
For the S/S '20, Williams shares one more time his predilection for futurist + functional designs.
Militaristic vests, trim suiting, and a series of adjustable layered cowls accent appear in the menswear collection, while the women's looks are mostly black dresses, zippered skirts and trending cycling shorts.
A series of leather coats are followed by ribbed jumpsuits. The handbags, waist bags and backpacks are all handmade. The collection first premiered during the most recent PFW.
