TOP 5 SNEAKERS list of Kevin Concepts is here
When a designer expands their passion for sneakers into a profession, you can bet there's a sick personal collection they call their own.
That's why when we talked to Kevin Concepts about his work of upcycled leather goods that keep the core of sneaker culture alive 24/7 — no matter where — we figured he had a list of personal faves.
So here's in Kevin's own words his very on-brand GOAT pairs (full of Nikes & Air Jordans perfect for customizations) plus the stories behind them as a 'lil treat 👟.
1. Atmos Air Max 1
"If there’s a sneaker that defines me, this would be it. This sneaker incorporates my favorite combination of colors in teal, white, black, and grey. This colorway, in addition to the unique elephant print, makes this sneaker my favorite and one that I will never part with."
2. Off-White Air Jordan 1 The Ten
"Around the time of the release of The Ten, I entered a raffle on Twitter from Nike for the Jordan 1. Somehow, I managed to win, but had to fly out to New York to purchase them. My friend and I flew out to New York to pick them up and had an awesome time. This pair is more sentimental than anything."
3. Air Jordan IV White Cement
"The unique design of this sneaker caught my interest and got me into sneakers when I was a teenager. The wings, netting, and bold colors of the Jordan IV are elements that I had not yet seen on any other sneaker when I was younger. I loved the design and still do."
4. CPFM x Nike By You Air Force 1
"The collaboration between Nike By You and Cactus Plant Flea Market allowed consumers to create these awesome Air Force 1s that featured leather overlays displaying words like 'air', 'sunshine', and 'flea'. I loved the options provided and bought a white-on-white version that says 'Air' and 'Sunshine'."
5. A sample pair of Jordan’s
"Signed by the developers and designers, I was gifted this pair during my job shadow at Jordan Brand. The experience and the sneakers have changed my life, and, for that, I’ll never part with them."
