The TR00 FING in NYFW corner
So New York Fashion Week has come to an end, babes.
This time, chairman TOM FORD shortened the event’s schedule in a few days, which didn’t stop it from bringing us aaaall the fresh tastes of Spring 2020 that we’ll keep on seeing👀 in London, Milan and Paris within the next few weeks. *we be w8ing for it*
From forwrd thinking names like TELFAR to Tokyo-based new star TOMO KOIZUMI and our darling JEREMY SCOTT, NYFW has something 4 all (even a blockbuster show hosted by kween RIH-RIH & her brand new SAVAGE X FENTY collection – which we died for, right?🤷♂️🦂).
We, however, believe that the best part of it all is OUT IN THE STREETS.
The ppl, the stories, the lewks (Jacquemus tiny bags, leather jackets, accessories we only spot during our beloved September)... it’s reeally the ecosystem surrounding the event that makes it all worth it. Also, we had a gr8 time with 'em during the last days, and to all this babes, we left 3 questions to b solved: who they are, how the environment inspires to express ourselves & whether they'd go out for a 🍸🍸🍸 with THE designer (and who would it.).
Feel welcome to meet the raddest people we met during the last few days in NYC. We just 💛 them all :)
"My name is Dalia Drake. I am a Cuban native. Fashion Curator, founder of Vogue Cuba nonprofit organization magazine and co-owner of Benefactdos, a styling & creative duo. NYFW shows and events are always the seasons when I feel the most in love with my style! For me is the biggest marathon of the fashion industry and one I get to share with my peers.
If I went out for a drink with a fashion designer, it would be: This is something you can ask in a million years again and I will still say Robyn Rihanna Fenty. But preferably nothing with ginger since I know she likes those types of cocktails." @DALIADRAKE
"My name is Arvin and I am a personal stylist at SSENSE. I’m from Toronto but I currently live in Montreal. I love to make music and style shoots during my free time.
I luv people watching and growing up in Toronto seeing the different kinds of people from different cultural backgrounds exposing you to the different styles of clothing. I like to incorporate and take bits and parts of things I like on others and incorporate to my own style.
I would love to go for a drink with Rick Owens. I believe that he is a true artist in today’s world and I would love to get to pick his brains to understand the way he views life." @A.R.V.I.N.L.I
"I am The Twink Nextdoor from NYC. I’m a painter, a sculptor, a designer, and a celebrity stylist. I lived in Baltimore through college and beyond where modeling began for me.
After moving to NYC I took trends from both cities in combination with my own expression to create the looks I do. Being a designer, I also try to promote my own brand as much as possible and wear independent designers and artists.
If I went out for a drink with a fashion designer, it would be: I’m not sure, maybe Ashley Longshore because she’s dipping into fashion through her pop art and really breaking boundaries in the mixed media field right now. She’s also a bad bitch and so fun so we would kick it." @THETWINKNEXTDOOR
"My name is CATRINA the CREATIVE. I am an Emmy & Addy Award Wardrobe Stylist & Fashion Multipreneur™️ (designer, educator, cakepopinista) @ The CREATIVE STYLEHAUS™️ & VP of The Future Youth Of Fashion Non-Profit based in Dallas, Texas.
The environment allows me to express myself by inviting me to feel its love and be transparently aware of its presence in the smallest of details, with respect to every natural element. The environment and I are one, receiving and giving back to one another.
I would love to have a drink with Geoffrey Beene. I first fell in love with his work in the late 70’s / early 80’s. Fredrick & Nelson, in Seattle, carried his collection and had an emerald green velour that I was absolutely crazy about. I used to go downtown every day after school just to feel it. To this day I have never felt anything like it." @CATRINATHECREATIVE
"My name is Sandra Dede, originally from Togo. I’m a model, creative director and a stylist. I find it amazing to see different cultures and styles coming together and it inspires me to express myself and my culture.
I would love to meet with Virgil Abloh because I am inspired to be as he is. Virgil Abloh worked his way to the top to become the creative designer for Off-White and he comes from Africa." @SANDRAMABELLE
"Daria Vakhova. I’m a model. I think I would like to go with John Galliano for a drink." @DARIA_VAKHOF
"Markas Jordan, from Rochester, NY. I’m a signed model. Every time I come to NYC, it’s one of the only places where I can truly be myself. Meeting new people every day that want to create and chill is truly a vibe.
If I went out for a drink with a fashion designer, it would be: That’s such a tough decision, either Virgil Abloh or Kristopher Kites. They are both huge inspirations to me and my modeling career. Hopefully, we will get a drink after a fashion show." @MARKASJORDAN
"Brandon Foster, stylist, creative director, writer, model. Chicago birthed me, Atlanta changed me, New York City made me. The environment of the city inspires me to take inspiration from every aspect of it and interpret it freely without hesitation.
If I went out for a drink with a fashion designer, it would be: Pyer Moss. " @THEBRANDONFOSTER
"Stevens Añazco. I’m from Ecuador and I’m an artist (photography, illustration, poetry). I tend to express myself and wear things that make me feel my best. If there’s a certain occasion I might play it up, but I usually like to stick to things that are fitted and sculpted to my body.
I would love to get drinks with Martin Margiela." @STEVENSANAZCO
"I’m Antonia Dewbury. I’m English (from the countryside of England) but have lived in London and New York for the last year. I’m a full-time model.
The environment really inspires me in many ways including my own style. The environment forces me to express who I am in my moods too, whenever I’m at home in the countryside walking my dogs through fields I’m always at my most relaxed state of mind so whenever I get a bit stressed from work I always go home for the weekend and regenerate myself.
If I went out for a drink with a fashion designer, it would be: God, this is a tough one. I love everyone so much but I think it would have to be Christopher Bailey. He was the first man I ever worked for and also walked the runway for. I was fortunate enough to be an exclusive for his A/W ’16 show and this started my career, so it would be my greatest honor to thank him." @ANTONIA.DEWBURY
