Race-ready with RHUDE's McLaren-inspired AW21 collection
In the words of McLaren's founder Bruce McLaren, "there's no finish line." The motor racing team knows there's always room for improvement — much like RHUDE's founder and creative director Rhuigi Villaseñor.
Villaseñor's brand is on the rise while he continues to launch premium apparel with a pandemic-proof success. This time around, the Fall/Winter 2021 collection titled "Storms never last" also debuts the brand's new womenswear lineup, exploring ready-to-wear designs with tailored leather pieces in a structured aesthetic.
Automotive culture was the biggest inspiration here with co-created items that unite the laid-back fit from RHUDE with the performance of the British manufacturer master of Formula 1.
With branded leather racing jacket and baggy shorts balancing with blazers with sleek leather detailing and layered pieces, this seasonal collection has a lot of hidden gems.
Who got to see the production upfront the debut at Paris Fashion Week was McLaren's F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo. He stopped by RHUDE's fashion design studio in LA for a quick sneak peek at Villaseñor's company.
"I think it's easy to get lost in logos and branding in partnerships that I wanted to sort of tear it and have some elements of just car designs implemented in clothes," shared Rhuigi Villaseñor about the McLaren-inspired pieces filled with aerodynamic elements.
