Oscar Niemeyer's seminal architecture

Born in Rio de Janeiro, in 1907, OSCAR NIEMEYER was an architect, CONSIDERED ONE OF THE BEST EVER SEEN IN BRAZIL.

He graduated in 1934 from the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, and entered Lucio Costa's office in 1935. His memorable life and work are renowned not only in his home country but throughout the world.

His introduction to furnishing began back in 1936, when he joined Le Corbusier's team of Brazilian architects to establish a new Ministry of Education and Health building in Rio de Janeiro.

However, not only of imposing buildings he lived. In the world of furniture design, the Brazilian name has also left its mark. He did not design many pieces, but where he ventured, the cohesion of style and character inherent in his work was evident, along with an abundance of leather.

RIO CHAISE

Chaise Rio was consecrated as his most famous piece of furniture: an exact translation of his entire work, a timeless classic. An elite chaise longue that will accompany the chillest moments, with the comfiness of the leather upholstery. It is, actually, made in Tuscany, the cradle of Italian craftsmanship, to ensure high quality and attention to detail.

His well-constructed pieces are all made of wonderfully time-honored fabrics like good leathers. Being an extremely versatile material, the modern designs are also functional and durable, all while making a stylistic statement.

ALTA LOUNGE CHAIR

The first piece of furniture designed by Oscar Niemeyer was created in collaboration with his daughter, Anna Maria Niemeyer, in the '70s. The Alta lounge chair exemplifies the exquisite curves made famous in Niemeyer's influential modern architecture and the upholstery is made in a variety of leathers.

Niemeyer's seminal architecture is famous for introducing the beauty of curved and asymmetric forms, and so are his furniture creations.

PRAIANA CHAISE

Being a design reminiscent of his architecture, it draws heavily on sinuous forms, delicate curves, and Brazilian identity. The Chaise Longue model Praiana has a leather upholstery and the curvy vibes of Niemeyer, and there are only a few models available nowadays.
