MonteCarlo Offshorer got a restomod version by The Restorer
Restoration and modification (known as "restomod") are huge in the car world — but could it be the same for boats in the future?
Made by The Restorer, this powerboat represents a new life for this '70s MonteCarlo Offshorer. Back then, the concept was highly innovative, being the first boat with a deep V-step hull, which makes it faster and lighter on the water surface.
The MonteCarlo Offshorer quickly became the icon of Cote D'Azur, the French Riviera — even tho only 343 of them were built in total.
This restomod of the classic features entirely new electronic and hydraulic systems while maintaining the luxe aesthetic in all white-leather seating and black leather steering wheel.
“I remember my father, who was a director at the Riva shipyard, at the helm of our Offshorer 30 while I was anchored to the sofa as the boat flew over the waves. The MonteCarlo is the classic boat on which to enjoy an afternoon at sea – there’s a large sundeck at the stern with a retractable ladder, the sofa in the cockpit is spacious and comfortable and the central driving position affords an optimal view of the whole boat,” shares Giorgio Colombi, the man behind The Restorer.
With the single-seater console configuration of Series I — meaning the pilot is in the center — there's loads of space to relax, sit, or suntan.
