Is it really that normal to catch authentic vintage cars riding around town? Let's be honest, it's not.

Their price is so high that they keep stuck in the garage for protection. That's why replicas of vintage cars are a rising force on the wheels market with the same production methods as the originals. But this is not the case with the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.

Gullwing's striking caramel leather interior has its own particular show as the doors open in a non-conventional way. It was even the fastest production car in the world at the time with its possible 160-mph top speed.

But the ride with wings doesn't have any replicas available, as Mercedes takes the model as a huge part of the German automaker's history. The company even submitted a press release warning that "the body shape of the legendary model has been trademarked by Daimler AG. Anyone building, offering, or selling replicas of the vehicle is in breach of the Company’s rights. This even applies if the replicas do not incorporate any logos or trademarks of the Company. Daimler AG has long taken a tough approach to vehicle replicas."

(This "tough approach" they mention is literally crushing into pieces Mercedes 300SL Gullwing replicas. Yes, it has already happened.)
