LV everywhere.
The classic monogram from Louis Vuitton has been taken to almost everything already. So why not try it on a BMX bike?
BMXer Nigel Sylvester (yep, the guy on the photo above) shared the idea with famed artist and craftsman Daniel "Rickard Guy" McRorie, who conceived this one and only piece all wrapped up in a vintage Louis Vuitton garment bag from the 80’s – the dust bag for the shoes was even reworked to be a dust cover for the seat.
The design is precise, with the LV pattern covering every single detail. The frame, cranks, seat post, seat, forks, headset and bars are completely wrapped in the brand’s prime leather. All of this care takes back to the major inspiration for the project: Louis Vuitton himself, and his inspiring craftsmanship skills.
“This first installment of the project is an ode to Louis Vuitton, a master craftsman from France who began designing one of a kind travel trunks in Paris during the 1850’s. This art piece marries the classic monogram canvas and the BMX bicycle, a vehicle that is very personal to me”, says Nigel.
As pointed out by Nigel, the leather finishing represents luxury, durability and timelessness, while the BMX bike the functionality.
