An old cement factory is now an office w/ the sickest garden and w/ heavenly leather sofas whispers in Le Corbusier.

LA FABRICA is a fortress

So that Ricardo Bofill and his guys can shape their ideas w/ privacy and TONES of inspiration.

Founded in 1973 by the architect, this mid-century place used to be a disused cement factory. Over 30 silos, subterranean galleries, and huge machine rooms are parts of this 3100m² industrial complex located near Barcelona, Spain. Huge, right?

It has taken two years of work and vision to transform this post World War I architecture into the head office of Taller de Arquitectura.

The building is a bit surrealist tho: there are stairs that climb up to nowhere and even mighty reinforced concrete structures that sustain nothing.

After some boom 💣 here and there, the project has been approached as a sculpture w/ the goal of uncovering hidden rooms and isolate sum dangerous parts, such as the cement-filled silos.

La Fabrica today is a whole complex that stands in the midst of gardens, slowly engulfed by eucalyptus, palms, and olive trees, as well as cypresses. 🍀

Its decor is smth else, too: it's like a leather paradise, w/ Le Corbusier sofas and Eames chair all over it.

In fact, there's a whole Eames lounge. The luxe is all immersed in an industrial mood that remains there, through stuff such as PVC pipes.
