Jaden Smith goes sneaker shopping with Complex
Singer, actor, activist: too many jobs to put in a box. Jaden Smith aims to give back to the community by creating sustainable shoes and his passions for both good actions and unique shoes have just met.
On the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping with Complex, the rapper debated all things footwear.
For him, it's important to make 1 of 1 shoes, since his first designs were created this way: organically, cutting stripes of leathers, and building exclusive patterns.
“We all have these platforms and we want to use them to make the world a better place and help the person that’s next to us. We’re so blessed in this life to be able to make shoes and to make clothes and music that I really want to do that to give back to the people that are less fortunate and the people who need help.”
The guy is a true living model, from feeding the hungry to helping to make the world a better & greener place to live through his creations. That's because the reason for Jaden's obsession with using leather leftovers to create new models is not aesthetic, it's a sustainable action — +
Also, via a collaboration with The ReFresh Spot — an organization dedicated to providing assistance to the homeless community in Skid Row — Jaden donated 300 pairs of NB kicks to Homeless Health Care LA on his last solidarity adventure.
This is just another way for Smith to use his influence to help those in need of assistance. The sneakers will help to heel up the comfort to people who are in need to go through the day, and actually a lifetime, since the pairs are made of durable leather & suede.
