Hilton Carter insane indoor jungle.
Hilton Carter is living wild. The plant and interior stylist spends about three or four hours a week watering, wiping down leaves, rooting and talking to his little indoor jungle.
Carter always had this thing for photographs of old, abandoned buildings with greenery everywhere, so he decided to live on a place just like it. “You don't know if you're inside or outside, but you're home”, he once said to Dwell.
The industrial-style Baltimore apartment and work studio is filled with plants. Next to them, carefully selected items easily match the unique decor created by nature — the leather pieces seem framed by the lush landscape.
“There's something about green foliage against stone, wood, and woven pieces.”
If you do wanna try this at home, make sure to let some free space between your dearest leather designs and your beloved plants, so you don't have to move the couch every time you water the last ones. Carter knows that you'll take better care of them when they're easy to reach.
Earlier this year, he released Wild at Home: How to Style and Care for Beautiful Plants, a book where he shares tips on plant care – like understanding lightning and all the needs your little plant friend may have.
Hilton Carter is here to prove that with a little love and a touch of style, you can have as many 🌵🌳🌴🌱🌿☘️🍀 as you like.
