Camille Charriere wearing a Magda Butrym leather coat
For those who do not know her, Camille Charrière has managed fashion shows, as well as multiplying her online ads, in the latest years. Her sophisticated taste and girl next door charm keeps on catch the brand's — and our — eyes, every time.
She was spotted wearing a leather piece by the Polish-based designer Magda Butrym: her designs took the NYC streets through the form of dream leather coats and we'll tell you all about it.
Magda Butrym is a name that has kept a fine balance between new and old, which is bound to sustain her success. Seeking to place her talents at the disposal of women of her time, after working for other fashion houses, she decided to create her clothes through workshops across Poland. They manufacture woven textiles, braided leathers, and hand-embroidered details, showcasing local craftsmanship that is yet little known on the international scene.
The brand's collections are characterized by a combination of youthful, oversized silhouettes and asymmetry of the feminine and masculine spirit.
Butrym is inspired travels and books on vintage style from the '70s and '80s, which keeps her brand’s party spirit alive with plenty of tailoring, mannish coats with big shoulders, balloon-shaped pants, and leather outerwear with a retro feel that also highlights the technical side to Butrym’s work.
The Polish designer offset her signature party dresses with a bigger portion of cool, mannish daywear, and here’s a glimpse at a label in full expansion.
Designing a new collection always starts with asking myself two questions. What do I need in my closet and what do I dream about? The process begins only when I find the answers" - Magda Butrym
Her designs have been hitting the street styles we have seen punctuating fashion week catwalks for several seasons. Branded as a "sophisticated exploration of femininity," the designer's brand of the same name keeps attracting celebrities and influencers with its strong sense of style and balance.
