Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance honors the classic Nike freestyle
Since Teddy Santis took over as New Balance's creative director, we have been excited about what's to come. After a small NB550 spoiler on his personal Instagram, Aimé Leon Dore's founder went deep in nostalgia to announce a new sneaker and capsule collection.
Inspired by Nike basketball freestyle classic commercials from 2001, ALD and NB called New York basketball legends for the remake, such as the bruiser Charles Oakley, “Point God” Rafer Alston aka Skip To My Lou, Bobbito Garcia, and new names too.
With the city as a backdrop, freestyle happens to the sound of paint-bucket drumming. This ad introduces the International Friendship Through Basketball capsule that includes the New Balance 550 in green/gold leather silhouette and a full line of sweats, jerseys, and other casual pieces in the same palette.
The official launch of International Friendship Through Basketball takes place on April 16 and will be available on the Aimé Leon Dore's and New Balance's websites.
Don't miss any pair out there.
