A significant shift in Mowalolas career thats for sure

Kanye West announced Friday (26), that he's working with GAP on a collaborative clothing line between the high street store and West’s YEEZY brand.

The collab represents West's dream, because, after having worked at the company as a teenager in Chicago, in a 2015 interview with style.com, he claimed that he wanted to be the “Steve Jobs of the Gap".

The first appointed to in this creative endeavour is Nigerian designer Mowalola Ogunlesi, who will act as Design Director for Yeezy Gap.

No news here: we've seen Kim K. and her family slaying some full leather looks lately and can't miss what they're wearing: the unique pieces of Mowalola. It's clear that Kanye is a fan of her designs, which have been taking over the fashion industry.

Gap confirmed its partnering with Kanye West on a Yeezy line that’s set to drop in the first half of 2021, and the 25-year-old designer posted on Instagram a few minutes later that she would lead the Yeezy Gap design team.

After graduating from CSM just three years ago, this new step in Ogunlesi's career marks a real shift in her professional life.

Her brand became one of the most exciting on the scenemaking, making clothes for the world she wants to live — it's easy to see that her designs are made with purpose. Joining forces with Kanye is a thrilling move and we can't wait to see the reflection of her style in this new project.

Mowalola Ogunlesi skimps on leather, in the best way possible. Known for creating clothes that celebrated for their powerful vision of sensuality, you'll def find gender-skewing, sexed-up silhouettes along with bondage vibes and plenty of leather in every Mowalola piece.

Drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences, the London-based creative explores gender roles, politics, and identity through her bold and often unapologetically sexy collections. Each piece is slick and suggestive, like some sort of leather dream, and there's no espace for classic or normal here.

This news should really come as no big surprise, since last Sunday, in celebration of Father’s Day, Kim K. posted a family picture of the Wests in full Mowalola leather and cow print looks.
