With just 385 miles on the odometer, a 1993 Jaguar XJ220 went up for auction in Sussex, England, and became the most expensive copy in the world.

The car, which had had only two owners before being auctioned, spent much of its life in a dehumidified collection in Germany, being sold in 2015 and undergoing engine maintenance in 2019.

According to auction house Bonhams, the XJ220 is in "virtually pristine cosmetic order" with the "superb" sand leather interiors fully intact.

This model definitely enriches any collection, but it is not a famous machine as only 300 copies were produced at the time. What makes it so special is the engine, which made it the fastest production car for a year until the arrival of the McLaren F1.
