One single laser-cut sheet of leather reimagined becomes Nendo's Mai folded handbag.
When you order a leather handbag online, don't get alarmed if it arrives completely flat & not assembled.
Nendo designed a flatpack handbag made from a single piece of laser-cut leather dyed with plant-based tannin.
The Japanese studio created this project for “up to you anthology”, an Italian online platform specialized in bags. Named Mai after the Japanese word 'ichimai' (which translates into ‘one flat thin object’), the handbag can be easily assembled by the customer without any tools 🔧.
Nendo says that this impacts the manufacturing process and minimizes inventory and shipping cost — so u can make up your collection with many colors and sizes of handbags that cost from €181.
